Pet Blessing Service

Join us for a joyful Pet Blessing Service where tails wag, feathers flutter, and hearts are warmed. Whether your companion barks, meows, chirps, or just gives you that judgemental goldfish stare, we’d love to meet them – and you! No need to be a churchgoer. Service begins at 11am, at St Dyfrig’s Hall, on Saturday 4th October.
We are currently having technical issues with our card reader and we are not able to take card payments in the parish. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are trying to get it sorted. Stella Maris Sea Sunday THANK YOU for your very generous donations during July this year to the Stella Maris Sea Sunday collection to support seafarers worldwide. The total donated in the parish was £315.45 plus the Gift Aid contributions. I am also aware that some of you donated directly by text and online so the total from our parish will be significantly higher –a wonderful response which will make a real difference. Thank you too for the many gifts placed in the box for seafarers which I reckon was worth at least another £100. An amazing response. The seafarers are always so pleased that you remember them through your gifts and your prayers. May God bless you all. Thank you again. If you wish to have a child Baptised in St Philip Evans Church, please ask for a green form after Mass. On completion, please return it to the parish office. You will be contacted to arrange a date and time, and, if necessary, an individual preparation discussion.
We are now taking bookings for Confirmations for next year for our young people in years 8 and above. These will take place between Easter and the end of July. Please contact Teresa in the parish office ( secretary@sphilipevans.co.uk ) to book. Closing date, Sunday 26th October.
If so, the Parish needs you! It would be good to bring together a group of people who could support our organists Chris Barry and Mary Affley. They have regularly accompanied the hymns and Mass settings every weekend but would appreciate being able to share the responsibility with others. In fact, Chris played the organ at the very first Mass celebrated in St Philip Evans church 40 years ago and has regularly done so ever since . A list of the hymns is always available in advance and music is provided. If you would like to join the team, or would like further information and the opportunity to discuss this further, please speak to Chris or Mary after a weekend Mass or email music@sphilipevans.co.uk .
