Card Reader Issues

September 8, 2025

We are currently having technical issues with our card reader and we are not able to take card payments in the parish. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are trying to get it sorted.

If you would like to make your weekly collection, please bring cash to Mass or donate to the parish online via this link to our Goodhub page.

When you come to Mass this weekend you may spot these new signs on the shelf in front of your pew. They are small welcome notices for all visitors to the parish, with a QR code they can scan if they would like to make a donation. Please be assured: if you are already a regular donor, you are also welcome but we don’t expect an extra gift!

The card machine in the narthex can now be used to make donations to our Special Collections. Currently you can donate to CAFOD (from weekend of 4th/5th October) and World Mission Appeal (from weekend of 18th/19th October). Most of our Special Collections are required by either the Archdiocese, Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales or the Holy See. So you have a chance to prayerfully consider how you wish to donate, these are the Special Collections coming up over the next few months: 1st & 2nd November: Sick & Retired Clergy Fund . Advent & Christmas - 29th Nov to 11th January 2026: Crib Offerings (Aid to the Church in Need / Caritas Cardiff & Menevia working with homeless people)

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill has passed through the House of Commons and is now with the House of Lords. Our clear principled objection to the Bill remains. The House of Lords has a responsibility to scrutinise the Bill in depth and reject it if necessary. Unlike MPs, Members of the House of Lords do not have constituents, meaning there is not a Peer whose job it is to represent you based on the area of the country in which you live. For this reason you should take some time to think about which Peer you will write to and why, such as whether you have a personal or professional connection with them, or you have professional expertise in medicine or healthcare. Please visit this link for full guidance to help you write to a Peer: cbcew.org.uk/how-to-write-to-peers-in-the-house-of-lords .
