Religious Community Heritage in Wales

May 13, 2026

Norwegian Church, Cardiff
20 May – 21 June | Opens 11:00

An inspiring new exhibition at the Norwegian Church in Cardiff invites visitors to explore the rich and diverse religious communities that have shaped life across Cardiff and Wales.

Featuring a wide range of objects and images, the exhibition reveals the histories, traditions, and everyday experiences of faith communities including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Paganism. Visitors will encounter the many ways people worship, celebrate, and pass on their beliefs from one generation to the next.

Set within the historic Norwegian Church, the exhibition also reflects on its place within the wider story of migration, belonging, and identity in modern Wales, connecting it with other religious sites and communities across the nation.

Ultimately, this exhibition offers a thoughtful opportunity to reflect on both the distinctiveness and shared values of Wales’s faith communities, highlighting the important role they continue to play in shaping society today.

We have received the following statement from Archbishop Mark , shared after the recent meeting of the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales in Rome. In solidarity with the Holy Father, the Bishops invite all people of goodwill to renew their commitment to peace and justice, and they ask Catholics in particular to redouble their prayers for those affected by conflict across the world. Rooted in the hope of Easter, this message reminds us of our shared Christian responsibility to be peacemakers and bridge‑builders. We are encouraged to read the statement prayerfully and to join with the Bishops and the wider Church in praying for an enduring peace founded on justice, dialogue and fraternity. The full statement and the Prayer for Peace of Pope St John XXIII are shared below.
