Welcome the stranger: defend the right to asylum

A campaign supported & promoted by the Catholic Bishops of England Wales.
Today, people seeking asylum in the UK are facing laws and policies that deny their dignity. Families are kept apart. People are forced into poverty and isolation. Many live in fear, unable to rebuild their lives even after being recognised as refugees.
As Christians, we cannot accept a system that treats people as problems to be managed rather than neighbours to be welcomed. Together, we can build a society that welcomes, protects, and stands alongside people seeking safety.

We are looking for a practising Catholic who feels called to support our parish school by becoming a Foundation Governor. This is a wonderful ministry that helps shape the spiritual, moral and educational life of our children. Foundation Governors are appointed by the Archdiocese and play a key role in: • Protecting and promoting the Catholic ethos of the school • Supporting and challenging school leaders to ensure high standards • Helping set the school’s strategic direction • Ensuring Gospel values guide policies, decisions and daily life • Strengthening links between the parish, school and Diocese . If you feel called to support Catholic education and help shape the future of our wonderful school community, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the school office for more information - cpower@cardiff.gov.uk

Leaders from across Wales’ major faith communities have written a joint open letter to Members of the Senedd, pledging their prayers and support as the new Senedd begins its term, while warning against rising religious and ethnic prejudice amid what they describe as a period of “significant tension” across the United Kingdom. Find out more and read the letter on the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales website:
