First Holy Communion Celebrations
May 20, 2026
23rd/24th & 30th/31st May
This weekend (23rd & 24th May), 13 of our children will receive Jesus for the first time in the Holy Eucharist. Next weekend (30th & 31st May), another 9 children will also receive Him for the first time.
First Holy Communion is a beautiful and unforgettable personal meeting with Jesus, when He gives Himself to us as food for the soul under the appearances of bread and wine.
Please keep all the children (and their families) in your prayers as they prepare and rejoice in this great step of belonging to Christ and His Church.
Please donate to our Family Fast Day parish collection. Put your faith into action and share the Lord’s love by supporting our global neighbours experiencing shortages of food and safe water. Your gift can support children like Tayla in Zimbabwe to stay in school by helping communities and schools provide nourishing meals, improve access to water and grow food in school gardens. Ways to donate to CAFOD Family Fast Day Use the envelopes at the back of church for our parish collection. Donate online at cafod.org.uk/envelope . Donate by phone: Call 0303 303 3030 and make a card payment over the phone. Donate by post: CAFOD, Romero House, 55 Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7JB . Please make cheques payable to CAFOD and do not send cash in the post. You can also text CAFOD to 70560 to donate £10. Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you’ll be opting into hearing more from CAFOD. If you would like to donate but don’t wish to hear more from CAFOD, please text CAFODNOINFO instead.
Calling all the young people of our parish and schools! As part of the build-up to the Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday 7th November, we are launching a Christmas Story and Art Competition.
We are looking for a practising Catholic who feels called to support our parish school by becoming a Foundation Governor. This is a wonderful ministry that helps shape the spiritual, moral and educational life of our children. Foundation Governors are appointed by the Archdiocese and play a key role in: • Protecting and promoting the Catholic ethos of the school • Supporting and challenging school leaders to ensure high standards • Helping set the school’s strategic direction • Ensuring Gospel values guide policies, decisions and daily life • Strengthening links between the parish, school and Diocese . If you feel called to support Catholic education and help shape the future of our wonderful school community, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the school office for more information - cpower@cardiff.gov.uk
